Russian Energy with Tatiana Mitrova

Episode 36 of the PetroNerds podcast is an incredibly detailed 1 hour and 17 min recording on all things Russia with expert Tatiana Mitrova.  Tatiana is well known for her knowledge and expertise of Russian oil and gas production and exports.

We talk about Russian oil and gas production volumes, the ability for Russia to produce at a lower fiscal breakeven than many other major producing countries, and some of the recent geopolitical issues with Russian gas and Europe. We discuss what happened over the course of 2020 and 2021 in Europe and Russia with regards to gas production, volumes going to Europe, and Europe’s energy crisis, especially in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and Europe’s doubling down on renewables and exiting from natural gas, coal, and nuclear.

Tatiana and I talk about energy security, the energy transition, and Russia’s relationship with China. This is a very special, not to miss episode on Russian oil and gas production and geopolitics.
