Rigs, Fracs, and DUCs, Oh My

In episode 30 of the PetroNerds podcast, Trisha Curtis sits down with Mark Rossana, CEO of C6 Capital and fellow macro nerd.

Mark and Trisha talk about the US rig count, the US DUC count, and the US frac spread count. They get into the weeds and nuances of the rig count, the drawdown in DUCs (drilled but uncompleted wells), and frac fleets. They discuss simul fracs and what percentage of the Permian is actually running simul or twin fracs.

Trisha makes sure to pull the micro to the macro with inflation talk and a word on the IEA’s (International Energy Agency) now “free” World Energy Outlook, prepared in advance of the big climate change COP 26 talks. And Trisha and Mark close it up talking about China and the real concerns for economic growth and recession.

Consider this part 1 of the Trisha Curtis Mark Rossano energy and economic nerd fest.
